Cloud Native App Dev

We build and modernize applications for AWS, using AI to speed up development without giving up the review and engineering judgment it takes to put software in production.

A cloud-native application differs from an application hosted in the cloud by what it assumes: elasticity, partial failure and continuous deployment as the normal state of operation. That is settled in the design, and changing the premise after go-live is expensive.

Outcome

Cloud-native applications that reach production with tests, infrastructure as code and a team able to maintain them.

What we do

  • Cloud-native development

Applications designed for the cloud from the start, with external state, configuration outside the code, health checks and deployment with no downtime.

  • Modernization of existing applications

We move running applications onto an architecture that makes use of the infrastructure available, prioritizing the changes that bring the largest gain in scalability, reliability or delivery speed, in stages and without interrupting current operations.

  • AI-assisted engineering in the delivery

We use Claude Code in our own workflow, with senior technical review before any code reaches production. The tool speeds up the writing; responsibility for what ships stays with engineering.

  • Infrastructure as code from day one

Terraform and the CI/CD pipeline are born with the application, before any fix comes to require manual console access.

  • Runtime chosen by the case

Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS or AWS Lambda depending on the workload and the team, with Amazon RDS where relational data is the heart of the application.

How we work

  1. We size what the software has to hold up

Volume, acceptable latency, seasonality and compliance requirements, before any decision about framework or language.

  2. We design the architecture before the first line

Service boundaries, the contracts between them, the data strategy and the deployment path decided as one set.

  3. We write with AI and review with senior engineering

Review decides what enters the repository, and it stays human.

  4. We ship with a pipeline and infrastructure as code

Reproducible environments, promotion between them and drift detection switched on before the first production release.

  5. We leave the team ready to operate

The delivery includes the enablement that gets the team building a new service inside the same standard, bringing up an environment through the pipeline and sustaining the application in production.

AWS services and tools involved

  • Amazon ECS
  • Amazon EKS
  • AWS Lambda
  • Amazon RDS
  • Terraform
  • CI/CD
  • Claude Code
  • Amazon CloudWatch

Where we usually come in

  • The product needs to grow and the architecture will not let it

Applications that hold up fine at today's volume and whose next step runs into server-side state, a single database or deployments that need a window.

  • Every release of the legacy application costs too much

Systems where shipping a change depends on manual steps, an environment nobody can reproduce and a well-founded fear of touching it.

  • The delivery needs seniority the team does not have

Companies about to build or modernize an application without senior architecture in house to lead the decisions.
